Nox sensors
NOx sensors measure the concentration of nitrogen oxides in exhaust gases. They are essential for effective SCR function and compliance with environmental regulations.
NOx sensors (Nitrogen Oxide sensors) continuously monitor the levels of nitrogen oxides emitted by the engine. This real-time data is sent to the ECU and AdBlue dosing system, enabling accurate urea injection to meet strict EURO emissions standards.
Typically located before and after the SCR catalyst, NOx sensors help evaluate raw emissions and assess the efficiency of the aftertreatment system. If these sensors fail, it can result in engine derating, warning lights, increased emissions, and system malfunctions.
Due to the extreme temperatures and chemical exposure, NOx sensors are prone to degradation over time. Replacing them proactively ensures optimal SCR operation and keeps the vehicle compliant with legal requirements.
