In hydraulic clutch systems, the clutch cylinder — either master or slave — plays a crucial role in actuating the clutch mechanism. When the driver presses the pedal, the master cylinder builds hydraulic pressure, which is transmitted through fluid lines to the slave cylinder. The slave then pushes the release bearing against the pressure plate, disengaging the clutch disc and stopping power transfer to the transmission.

A properly functioning cylinder provides consistent pedal feel and precise control. If the cylinder leaks or wears out, the system loses pressure, resulting in hard shifting, a soft or spongy pedal, or total clutch failure.

Some systems use a concentric slave cylinder (CSC) that integrates the bearing and slave into one unit, while others use separate master and slave cylinders. Design specifications depend on the truck brand, system layout, and clutch type.

Common features and applications:

  • Master and slave cylinders for clutch systems

  • Hydraulic or pneumatic operation

  • Available with or without integrated bleed ports

  • Compatible with clutch boosters or manual setups

  • OEM-grade, leak-free, pressure- and heat-resistant

At Sanders Parts, we offer high-quality clutch cylinders engineered for reliability, performance, and long-term durability — even in heavy-duty conditions.
