The release bearing transmits the force from the clutch pedal (via hydraulic or pneumatic actuation) to the pressure plate. When engaged, it pushes the diaphragm spring, releasing the clutch disc and interrupting power flow to the gearbox — allowing for smooth, safe gear changes.

A worn bearing can squeak, grind, or even seize, resulting in jerky shifting, vibrations, or damage to the pressure plate or transmission. That’s why it’s standard practice to replace the release bearing when installing a new clutch.

Common types and features:

  • Mechanical, hydraulic, or concentric slave bearings

  • High axial load and heat resistance

  • Provides vibration-free disengagement

  • Often included in clutch kits

  • Suitable for most truck and bus applications

At Sanders Parts, we supply high-quality release bearings built for durability and precision. Count on smooth clutch operation — every time you hit the pedal.
