Needle bearings
Needle bearings are compact and durable. They offer high radial load capacity in a minimal installation space — ideal for tight or constrained applications.
Needle bearings use long, thin cylindrical rollers (needles) arranged closely together. This design allows them to handle high radial loads while maintaining a slim profile — perfect for areas where space is limited but performance is still critical.
Commonly used in transmissions, crankshafts, power steering systems, and other confined driveline components, needle bearings provide excellent stiffness and load distribution. They perform well at low to medium speeds under heavy load.
Needle bearings come in various types: with or without inner rings, with cages or full complement (no cage), open or closed ends. In some applications, the rollers run directly on the shaft or housing surface.
Typical applications and features:
-
High radial load capacity in tight spaces
-
Slim, rigid design for compact assemblies
-
Available with or without inner race
-
Cage materials: steel, brass, or polymer
-
Ideal for drivetrains, transmissions, and steering systems
