Catalytic converter

The catalytic converter is a key component of the exhaust system in trucks and commercial vehicles. Through a chemical reaction, it converts pollutants like carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and unburned hydrocarbons (HC) into harmless nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and water vapor.

Inside the converter, a ceramic honeycomb structure coated with precious metals (such as platinum, palladium, or rhodium) enables this reaction at high temperatures. This process allows vehicles to meet strict emissions regulations such as EURO VI.

A clogged or failing catalytic converter can cause performance loss, diagnostic errors, increased emissions, and failed inspections. Timely replacement ensures proper exhaust flow and environmental compliance.
